Riebeek Kasteel, South Africa – May 2025 — Allesverloren, the historic family-owned wine estate in the heart of the Swartland, is stepping confidently into a new era. With a revitalised look, a renewed focus on terroir, and a deep commitment to family heritage, this evolution marks an exciting new chapter for one of South Africa’s most storied wine farms.
Situated just an hour from Cape Town, Allesverloren’s vineyards climb the slopes of the Kasteelberg Mountain. The estate benefits from cold, wet winters and hot, dry summers—ideal conditions for producing grapes with rich concentration and depth. This unique environment, paired with more than 150 years of family stewardship, provides the perfect backdrop for crafting wines of distinction.

At the heart of the transformation is the refreshed Swartland range—now more expressive of the estate’s terroir than ever before. These wines highlight the character of the land and the generations of knowledge that shape them. Looking ahead, a compelling new addition is on the way: The Arsonist, a bold new blend due for release later this year, promises to offer a modern twist on Allesverloren’s legacy by blending innovation with tradition.
The estate’s fortified wines remain a defining feature of the Malan family’s winemaking tradition, continuing to showcase the craftsmanship and resilience that have long set Allesverloren apart.
This period of renewal follows the passing of Danie Malan—respected father, friend, and wine industry figure—whose influence continues to guide the estate’s vision.
“Everything we do is underpinned by the memory of our father,” says Danielle Malan, Danie’s daughter. “The name ‘Allesverloren’—which means ‘all is lost’—speaks not of despair, but of the strength and legacy that carries us forward.”
Danie’s children, Fanie and Danielle, both longstanding members of the executive team, are now at the helm. Alongside a team of experienced winemakers and marketing professionals, they are dedicated to preserving Allesverloren’s legacy while propelling it towards a bright and promising future.
Their efforts are already gaining attention. Allesverloren’s updated label for the Swartland range was recently recognised at WineMag’s Label Design Awards. The 2024 Chenin Blanc stood out for its originality, visual impact, and storytelling—affirming the estate’s fresh and thoughtful direction.
To reflect this exciting evolution, Allesverloren has also unveiled a new website that celebrates both its history and future. The site offers a closer look at the wines, the people behind them, and the story that continues to unfold.
South African customers can enjoy free delivery on orders over R1,500. Visit www.allesverloren.co.za to explore the full range and subscribe to the estate’s newsletter.
