The historical village of Sidbury has two beautiful churches and a number of war graves that bear tribute to what was once war-torn fields. St Philip’s Church in Makhanda has a sculpture of the black Madonna while Riebeek East’s Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk (Dutch Reform Church) has the largest church clock in the Eastern Cape.
