From the moment I stepped into the grand lobby of The Westin, I was swept into an atmosphere brimming with elegance and tranquility. Nestled in the heart of Cape Town, this five-star hotel radiates sophistication and warmth, making every guest feel right at home – if only home could be this luxurious!
The Westin is part of the esteemed Marriott Hotels, known globally for its world-class service, and my stay here certainly lived up to that standard. Over the two days, I experienced a place where every little detail is designed to please the senses, help you unwind and completely redefine what luxury feels like.
A room with a view
My adventure began on the 14th floor in the Westin Executive Club, where I found myself in a room that took my breath away. With panoramic windows framing a stunning 180-degree view of Cape Town, I felt like I was living in a painting. I could see the iconic Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, and the glimmering Atlantic Ocean all at once! Waking up to this incredible vista, watching the city come alive as the sun rose, was nothing short of magical.
The amenities and service were just as impressive as the scenery. The staff seemed to anticipate my every need – plush bathrobes, high-speed Wi-Fi, you name it! It’s not every day you feel genuinely pampered, but at The Westin, that’s the norm.
Exclusive executive club perks, dining and poolside relaxation
Let’s talk food! Each morning began with a buffet breakfast. The selection ranged from freshly baked pastries to tropical fruits, sushi and hearty local dishes. The breakfast area buzzed with energy, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee was the perfect wake-up call.
An afternoon on the pool deck turned into one of my favorite experiences. The second-floor pool deck has a laid-back atmosphere and is the ideal place to bask in the sun, relax, and enjoy the vibrant energy of Cape Town.
After the dip, I had the privilege of accessing the 19th floor Executive Club Lounge. Every evening from 4pm to 7pm, guests are treated to a delightful selection of complimentary canapés paired with fine wines and local beers – seriously, what could be better? It felt like a special ritual to unwind and connect with fellow travellers while soaking in the views of the city sparkling below.
Dining at Thirty7 Showkitchen was another highlight of my stay. The Smash Burger, a favorite among diners, was absolutely delicious — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it left me craving more. Afterward, I enjoyed a refreshing Aperol Spritz cocktail at Louis B’s Bar and Lounge before ending the day with a cosy evening in the jacuzzi on the 19th floor. There’s something about soaking in warm water while taking in breathtaking views of Cape Town that feels like the pinnacle of luxury. Finally, I returned to the suite on the 14th floor, where I could reflect on the day’s indulgences.

For those who like to stay active, The Westin has wellness facilities. The Westin Workout Fitness Studio, open 24/7, has everything you need – from cardio machines to free weights. And let’s not forget the indoor infinity lap pool on the 19th floor!
My stay at The Westin Cape Town was so much more than a luxurious break — it was an experience that left me with a full heart. Between the stunning views, the thoughtful service, and the simple joy of discovering quiet, beautiful moments around every corner, I felt completely cared for. I left with cherished memories, a deep sense of gratitude, and an undeniable urge to return someday soon.
