We have 15 beautiful individual self catering houses available at Farol da Barra. Houses are on stilts, built from wood and nestled against the dune on a safe swimming beach. Each house offers uninterrupted views of the warm Indian Ocean. Houses are linked to one another via a wooden deck. Ample parking available underneath the houses. Each of these houses are unique in capacity, and decor, yet the building style have been kept within the lodge standards and design. Houses range in sizes from 6 sleepers to a 20 sleeper.

Standard units consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and lounge area. All beds have mosquito netting and fans.

Luxury units have 3 or more bedrooms mostly ensuite bathrooms large fully equipped kitchens lounge and dining areas. All beds have mosquito nets and fans and all windows and doors are gauzed

Gas braai facilities available for each house.

Chill@Farol our onsite restaurant is there to relax and cater for all tastes, it offers a varied menu from wonderful seafood to pizzas. A range of local beers and magical cocktails, milkshakes, floats and a kiddies menu specially designed for our little guests. Thatch gazebos on the beach so meals can be enjoyed with your toes in the sand and a small splash pool for cooling off.

Restaurant can seat 60 guests and can be booked for an amazing destination wedding or celebration with the lodge for accommodation needs.

A host of activities available at nearby dive centre, and deep-sea fishing charters. Amazing activities on the estuary include birding, seahorse snorkelling, kayaking and island trips are available.

During the winter months humpback whales come to calve and the bay is full of life which can all be experienced from the comfort of your deck. Ocean safaris for those who wish to get up close to our incedible sea life. Whaleshark, mantas and small eyed stingray are year-round attractions.

Barra is a thriving little village with numerous restaurants and pubs. Within a 10 km radius there are 2 supermarkets, butcher, chemist, spa and gift shops. Fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are available from friendly locals daily at the lodge.

Inhambane is a historical town dating back to Vasco da Gama it was a major port for spices and ivory. Historical buildings relating to the slave trade and the Cathedral are a few of the interesting places to visit, a local guide can be easily arranged.

Tofo also a thriving multicultural town with busy nightlife and the best surfing is on the doorstep.

Getting here is not too difficult there are flights with LAM from Johannesburg ORT and Maputo daily. Safair flies into Maputo and Airlink into Vilancoulos a private transfer can be arranged although they can be a bit on the expensive side.
