The countdown has begun for one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most exciting road races. The Sapphire Coast Marathon returns on Sunday, 26 October 2025, hosted by Sapphire Coast Tourism and the Amanzimtoti Athletics Club.
With Early Bird Entries closing on 6 October, runners are urged to secure their spot for this official Comrades Marathon qualifier.
More Than Just a Race
“The Sapphire Coast Marathon continues to attract athletes from across South Africa, not only as a Comrades qualifier but as a chance to experience the natural beauty and warm hospitality of the Sapphire Coast,” says Dore Uys of the Amanzimtoti Athletics Club.
This year’s event also carries a charitable purpose. R5 from every entry will be donated to The Jona Vaughan Home, a non-profit organisation founded in 1984 that provides 24-hour care to individuals with mental and physical disabilities.
“The Sapphire Coast Marathon is both a sporting highlight and a celebration of community,” adds Romy Wenzel of Sapphire Coast Tourism. “Our support for The Jona Vaughan Home underlines the spirit of giving back, making this race bigger than ever.”
