Air France has announced the extension of its seasonal route between Cape Town and Paris until 3 May 2026, following exceptional demand for the service. Initially scheduled to end in March 2026, the direct route has proven immensely popular with South African travellers heading to Europe and international visitors arriving in the Mother City.
Cape Town’s Global Appeal
The extension highlights Cape Town’s growing status as one of South Africa’s most sought-after destinations, especially during the northern hemisphere’s winter months. Travellers escape colder climates for Cape Town’s sunshine, beaches, and cultural vibrancy. In turn, South Africans enjoy seamless access to Paris and beyond through Air France’s extensive global network.
Convenient Daily Schedule
Operating daily, the route is designed to suit both European and South African travellers.
- AF0871 departs Cape Town at 08:50, arriving in Paris at 19:20.
- AF0890 leaves Paris at 18:30, landing in Cape Town at 06:45 the next morning.
Comfort and French Elegance
The service is operated by the Airbus A350, offering passengers the comfort, style, and efficiency of next-generation air travel. Guests enjoy Champagne in every cabin, refined French-inspired dining, and the hallmark Air France experience defined by elegance and exceptional service.
Commitment to South Africa
“Cape Town remains one of the most inspiring destinations in our network, and we are thrilled to see such strong demand for our seasonal Paris–Cape Town route,” says Wilson Tauro, Country Manager Southern Africa at Air France–KLM. “This extension not only reflects the appetite for travel between Cape Town and Europe but also reinforces Air France’s commitment to connecting South Africans to the world with style, comfort, and efficiency.”
The extension reflects Air France’s ongoing investment in the South African market and confidence in the country’s tourism recovery and global appeal.
